MiningMaven SMP New Player Guide

Everything a new player needs to understand MiningMaven SMP: joining, money and Tokens, ranks, claims, shops, crates, spawners, KOTH, quests, voting, PvP rules and the commands to know.

This is the one page to read before (or right after) your first login. MiningMaven SMP is a Java Edition survival server with land claims, a two-currency economy, six ranks you earn in game, custom crates and cosmetics, timed KOTH events, daily quests and weekly leaderboards. Nothing on the server is pay-to-win: everything a paying player can get, a free player can get by playing.

Joining

• Use the latest Minecraft Java release (the server runs 26.2). Bedrock is not supported right now.
• Accept the server resource pack when prompted. It is required: crates, custom items and cosmetics use it.
• You spawn at Spawn. Read the signs, then talk to the NPCs: Welcome, Help, Info, Land, Kits, Jobs Board, Quest Master, Milestone Master, Wild TP, Black Market, Head Merchant and Enchanter. Right-click any of them.
• Join the Discord (link at the bottom) and type /discord link in game. Linking gives you the free Sprout rank plus three crate keys, once per account.

Your first hour

1. Grab the Starter kit: /kit, then click Starter. Leather armour, a full iron tool set, food, logs, stone, coal, torches, six Vote keys, an hour of fly time and a sell wand. It is free and comes back every week.
2. Type /discord link, DM the code to the Discord bot, and you become Sprout.
3. Use /wildtp to teleport somewhere random in the wild, away from other bases.
4. Stand in the chunk you want and type /claim, then /claim again to confirm. Claimed land cannot be built on, opened or damaged by anyone you have not trusted. Unclaimed land is not protected.
5. Set a home with /sethome and come back any time with /home. Return to spawn with /spawn.
6. Open /quests and knock out the three daily quests for money and fly time. Finish all three in a day for a Token bonus.

Two currencies: dollars and Tokens

Dollars ($) are the everyday money. You earn them by selling items (sell wands sell a whole chest at once), completing quests and jobs, winning KOTH and trading with players. Check yours with /bal. Tokens are the premium currency. They buy ranks, crate keys and spawners, and they are earned in play: 5 for finishing all your daily quests, 10 for a KOTH win, 100/50/25 for the weekly top three on every leaderboard, 50 for the final level of every milestone, and as prizes in the Vote and KOTH crates. Tokens can also be bought on the website, which is the only thing the store sells. Check them with /tt, send them to a friend with /tt pay.

Ranks

There are six ranks. Each one includes everything below it, and every one is bought in game with Tokens through /rank. Ranks give you limits and conveniences, never gear a free player cannot earn.

• Sprout: free when you link Discord. 40 claims, 4 homes, 4 shop warps, 25 chest shops, 20 auction listings, 4 jobs, +1 claim every 10 hours of playtime, /back, /enderchest, a daily Sprout kit.
• Forager: 1,500 Tokens. 60 claims, 6 homes, double vote rewards, /bottlexp, a daily kit.
• Builder: 2,500 Tokens. 80 claims, 8 homes, two vault pages, /sellall, a daily kit.
• Explorer: 4,500 Tokens. 105 claims, 10 homes, keep your XP on death, /pweather, a daily kit.
• Champion: 6,500 Tokens. 125 claims, 12 homes, /near, /fix, /top, a daily kit.
• Legend: 13,000 Tokens. 150 claims, 99 homes, unlimited /fly, /heal, /feed, /fixall, /anvil, /workbench, /bottom, a daily kit.
• Unlinked players start with 5 claims, 2 homes and 3 of most things, and do not gain claims from playtime. Linking Discord is the first upgrade and it is free.

Land, homes and towns

• /claim claims the chunk you stand in. /claims opens the land menu: map, borders, visitor settings, trust and bans. /unclaim releases it.
• Your claim allowance is your rank base plus one extra claim for every so many hours you play, faster at higher ranks, with no cap.
• Towns are free groups for people who want to build together: /town new <name>, /town invite <player>, /town join <name>, /tc for town chat. Towns own no land; claims stay yours.
• Homes: /sethome <name>, /home <name>, /delhome. Sprout has 4, Legend 99.

Buying and selling

• Chest shops: place a chest, look at it and use /ps to turn it into a shop with unlimited virtual stock. Browse every shop on the server with /shops, and set a public warp to yours with /ps setwarp.
• Auction house: /ah lists items for dollars or Tokens. Listings expire after 24 hours into your inbox.
• Jobs board: /order posts a bounty for items you need, or deliver to someone else's order to earn.
• Player trading: /trade <player> for a safe face-to-face trade.
• Sell wands: right-click a chest to sell everything sellable inside. The Starter kit gives you a basic one; better ones drop from crates.
• Black Market at spawn (/bm): five rotating deals, fresh every 12 hours, one purchase per rotation.
• Head Merchant and Enchanter at spawn: decorative heads for dollars, custom enchantment books for XP levels.

Crates and keys

The crates stand at spawn. Left-click one to preview its prizes, right-click with a key to open it. Vote keys come from voting. Enchantments, Cosmetics and Supreme keys can be bought with Tokens in /keys (300, 400 and 200) and also drop from milestones, the Black Market and the Discord link bundle. KOTH keys are only won by taking part in KOTH. Spawner keys are never sold: they come from milestones and quests, the link bundle, and as a rare prize in the Supreme and Cosmetics crates.

Spawners

Naturally generated spawners cannot be broken or picked up. To own one, kill that mob in the wild to unlock it in /spawners (250 kills for common mobs, 500 for rare, 1,000 for legendary), then buy it there for Tokens (150, 300 or 600) as many times as you like. Spawners you place drop back as items when you break them. The Spawner Crate and the Black Market are the other two ways in.

Arena KOTH

King of the Hill runs four times a day in the arena at spawn: 1pm, 5pm, 9pm and 1am Eastern. Capture and hold the zone to win a KOTH key, $10,000 and 10 Tokens. /mkoth status tells you when the next one starts. The arena and the colosseum are the only places PvP is on, and inside them /heal, /feed, /back, /fix, /top, /bottom and /near are blocked, and you are hidden on the web map.

Quests, milestones and leaderboards

• /quests: three daily quests that reset every day, paying money and fly time. Complete all three for 5 Tokens. One free reroll a day.
• /milestones: long-term goals in six categories. Each level pays money, fly time or keys, and the final level of every milestone pays 50 Tokens.
• Leaderboards stand at spawn and pay the top three of every board on Sunday night: 100, 50 and 25 Tokens plus dollars and keys.

Voting

Vote for the server on the sites listed at /vote. Every vote gives a Vote key (two from Forager rank up), every 250 votes server-wide triggers a Vote Party where everyone online gets a key, and the top three voters each week win extra prizes.

Flight

Flight runs on a time bank. Fly vouchers from kits, quests and crates add minutes; /fly toggles it and the bank only drains while you are actually flying. Legend has unlimited flight. Nobody can fly at spawn or in the arena.

Cosmetics

Wraps are skins for your gear, relics are unique weapons and armour, and both come from the Cosmetics crate. Apply wraps with /wraps. Wraps can be bought and sold for Tokens between players on the website marketplace.

Rules in short

• Be respectful. No harassment, hate speech or discrimination.
• No hacked clients, X-ray, exploits or duplication.
• No griefing or stealing, claimed or not. Claim your land to protect it.
• No spam, no advertising, English in main chat.
• No real-money trading outside the official store.
• Follow staff instructions. Disagree? Open a ticket in Discord.
